A large antique stoneware master ink bottle, made in England around the turn of the century. The tall cylindrical form is finished in a rich brown salt glaze with the irregular surface and tonal variation characteristic of utilitarian stoneware production of the period.
Originally used as a bulk ink container for refilling smaller desk inkwells, it measures approximately 9 inches high. Unsigned, with age-related surface wear and glaze irregularities consistent with its original utilitarian use. No chips or cracks.
